About Us...
A number of years ago, my lovely other half Adrian, ran the Flora Marathon and we needed to raise money for ChildLine. We decided we would host a few coffee mornings at home, and I would bake and create a tantalising array of my goodies for our guests to buy. There were no price tags, just beautifully presented tarts, cakes, jams and chutneys and a money box on the table. People were encouraged to pay what they felt was a fair price for the goodies they were buying. When we counted up our kitty afterwards, we were amazed to find that we had made a great deal of money, which we initially put down to the generosity and charitable spirit of our guests. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that the calls started coming in for more of the same, and that’s really when word of mouth about my cooking started; and that’s where the idea for Sarah’s Secrets came from.
I’ve always dreamt of having my own little business; one that would allow me to indulge my passion for cooking and baking, where every dish made would be a labour of love and where my customers would become my friends. Sarah’s Secrets was set up in 2007 and through sheer hard work and loving support from Adrian, it has been going from strength to strength ever since. What started with fairy cakes and raspberry jam has now become a fully fledged bespoke catering business, with attention to detail and personalised service second to none. For me, it’s still about the love of what I do, and as much of myself goes into my cooking now, as it did back in the fairy cake days!
